Are you ready to kickstart your legal career in a dynamic and supportive environment? We are on the lookout for proactive and organised Healthcare Paralegals to join our esteemed Healthcare team in Guildford. This is your chance to be part of a team that specialises in clinical negligence litigation and regulatory advice for medical and dental professionals.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Prepare Court Bundles: Gain hands-on experience by preparing court bundles, forms, and documents.
  • File Administration: Manage conflict checks, open files, and handle archiving.
  • General Administration: Draft letters and emails, manage post, arrange travel, control diaries, and organise meetings, including complex multi-party conferences with Counsel/experts and calls to the County Courts and High Court.
  • Presentation Preparation: Create PowerPoint presentations for Partners to present at meetings.
  • Billing and Time Management: Handle quarterly billing, amend time sheets, raise fee notes, resolve queries, and manage credit notes for all matters.

Opportunities for Growth:

While your role will initially focus on administrative support, you’ll quickly progress to legal-based fee-earning tasks such as:

  • Reviewing Expert Reports: Summarise expert reports and provide insights.
  • Instructing Experts and Counsel: Draft initial and substantive letters.
  • Reviewing Medical Records: Delve into medical records and radiology.
  • Research and Articles: Prepare research and articles for other fee earners in the Healthcare team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Completion or nearing completion of your LPC or SQE1 is essential.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail.
  • Multitasking Ability: Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint.
