We are looking for a Regulatory/Risk and Compliance Assistant to enhance our compliance with AML regulations and other regulatory requirements, contributing to our firm's integrity and adherence to legal standards.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Compliance Monitoring: Conduct regular reviews of client files and transactions to ensure compliance with AML regulations and report any suspicious activities.
  • Client Due Diligence: Perform thorough due diligence checks on new and existing clients to assess risk levels and verify identities.
  • Regulatory Research and Analysis: Stay updated on changes in AML and other regulatory requirements, conducting research and providing summaries.
  • Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of AML-related activities and prepare regulatory reports.
  • Training and Awareness: Develop AML training programs and provide ongoing support to colleagues on compliance matters.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with the Compliance team and other departments to address compliance issues and foster a culture of compliance awareness.
  • Audit and Examination Support: Assist in preparing for audits and regulatory examinations related to AML compliance.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate risks, assisting in developing mitigation strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualifications: Undergraduate degree (preferably in law) or legal qualification.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a regulated firm, ideally a law firm.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with the SRA Standards and Regulations and SRA Codes of Conduct.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in MS Software and relevant databases.
  • Attributes: Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and uphold ethical standards.
