An opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor has become available with major civil engineering contractor that are delivering a £500M civil engineering framework.

Projects range from £5M-£20M in value and are administered under NEC and IchemE conditions.

This is a newly created role as a result of a significant, recently awarded tender, the role presents the Quantity Surveyor the opportunity to join an industry-leading business and work on a range of interesting civil engineering and MEICA projects in the buoyant water sector.

This is a hybrid working role with three days per week expected on-site or in the office

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager the Quantity Surveyor's responsibilities will include:

Ensure contractual and commercial risks and opportunities are identified to the Project

Helping to maintain registers of variations, delay, extension times and claims, effective and consistent implementation of the Company's commercial policies and procedures

Assist with the preparation of monthly progress valuations and claims for work completed

Assist with pre-contract tender negotiations & reports where necessary

Contribute to the production of monthly cost reports, forecasts, and Contract Budget reports

Review value management / value engineering exercises

Advise on Risk management & participate in Risk workshop

Produce and monitor Commercial / Contractual correspondence and issues to reflect best practice

Manage sub-contractor accounts and payments

Reconcile weekly plant, material, labour reconciliation against budget

Experienced & Qualifications Required

Suitable Quantity Surveyors will be educated in BSc Quantity Surveying and will be able to demonstrate no less than three to four years working on civil engineering or utility projects.

Quantity Surveyors wishing to apply must be confident in dealing with stakeholders from different disciplines to establish a complete commercial understanding

First-class communication skills are essential, as is the ability to build excellent relationships with operational colleagues and stakeholders.
