Due to a swelling order book and exciting growth plans. Our client requires a Senior Quantity Surveyor required to work remotely, covering projects in the South East area. Mixture of home working and project meetings. No Head Office meetings required. The successful candidate will need to be able to visit projects in the Surrey or West Sussex areas, approximately on a bi-weekly basis. The role would be ideal for someone seeking to mix home working with project interactions. Please get in touch for more details.

The Opportunity

You will be part of a larger commercial team.Reporting to a Commercial Manager you will be responsible for 2 to 3 projects concurrently. Our client employs a number of Quantity Surveyors at various levels encouraging progression throughout the ranks, within the business.Operating primarily as a main contractor on contracts varying in value from 1m to 5m on average.

Day to day

  • Efficient communication with project teams and head office
  • Administration of sub-contractor accounts
  • Maintaining commercial controls on projects
  • Valuations, pricing variations and applications
  • Manage and audit cost forecasting
  • Issuing of payment certificates
  • Final Accounts
  • Attend project meetings with supply chain and internal teams
  • Understand project change, inline with contract conditions and impact of project commercials

You

  • A relevant qualification in the Construction/ Civil Engineering industry preferred
  • Demonstrable working knowledge as a Senior Quantity Surveyor capacity for a civil engineering contractor
  • Self-motivated and ability to take direction whilst primarily working remotely
  • Strong communicator and self-motivated
  • Comfortable with remote working
