Our client is an establisted contractor providing project solutions to the water/wastewater industry, who are currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor on either a permanent or contract basis in the Guildford area.

IMPORTANT
Previous water experience would be desirable

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
• To advise project management on all contractual, value, cost and contract time problems as they
arise.
• To prepare valuations and ensure payments are received on projects in accordance with contract
conditions.
• To cost variations, trends and extra works in accordance with company and client requirements.
• To assist with or prepare monthly cost and cashflow reports for senior management review.
• To commercially manage sub-contractor accounts ensuring all notices, payment certs and
correspondence are completed within contractual timescales
• To assist with and/or prepare contractual claims.
• To advise Procurement Department on terms and conditions of sub-contracts.
• To approve sub-contracts issued by Procurement Department via the Senior QS for accuracy and
quality against Company standards.
• To monitor all cost data to control a project from award to final completion

QUALIFICIATIONS/SKILLS
• A formal qualification (preferably HND or above)
in Quantity Surveying, or other relevant discipline
• Membership of RICS, ICES or similar relevant
body
• Demonstrable relevant experience in a similar
role, preferably within the water/wastewater
industry or built environment
• A knowledge and understanding of a range of
contract conditions and contract law, including
NEC and IChemE
• Ability to use a wide range of IT packages
including Microsoft Office.
