As part of its continued growth, the firm is looking to recruit a skilled Residential Conveyancer to join its busy, supportive conveyancing team—an excellent opportunity to advance a career in property law.

Key Responsibilities

As a Residential Conveyancer, you will play a crucial role in managing residential property transactions. Core responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing conveyancing files for sales, purchases, and remortgages from instruction through to completion.
  • Managing new client instructions, performing due diligence, and ensuring all regulatory and compliance requirements are met.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other parties, providing regular updates and responding to enquiries.
  • Drafting and preparing legal documents, including contracts, transfer deeds, and preparing SDLT returns and Land Registry applications.
  • Conducting necessary property searches (local authority, environmental, Land Registry) and advising clients based on the findings.
  • Handling post-completion procedures, including title registration with HM Land Registry and coordinating Stamp Duty payments.
  • Maintaining the case management system with accurate information, tracking all key milestones, and ensuring a smooth client experience.
  • Delivering excellent client service through consistent communication via phone and email.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks where required, such as document filing and scanning.

Key Skills and Experience Required

  • Demonstrable experience in a residential conveyancing or property law setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple conveyancing files and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy when preparing documents and managing client information.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence in liaising with clients and third parties.
  • Proficiency in case management systems and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Solid understanding of conveyancing processes and property law principles (preferred but not essential for applicants early in their career).
