Orka Financial is partnering with an established global business based in Guildford, who are looking to hire a proactive Finance Assistant to join their progressive finance department.
This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT student or someone pursuing their AAT qualification to gain practical experience while supporting a dynamic and growing finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with daily financial transactions, month-end procedures, and ensuring the smooth running of various accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities:Daily Transaction Processing:- Process and record daily financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Reconcile bank accounts and ensure accurate posting of transactions into the accounting system.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and ensure proper documentation is kept for all entries.
- Assist with the preparation and posting of month-end journal entries.
- Help in the preparation of monthly management accounts and variance analysis.
- Assist with the preparation and reconciliation of accruals, prepayments, and other month-end adjustments.
- Support in the preparation of VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Assist in the management of accounts payable, ensuring that invoices are processed accurately and payments are made on time.
- Help with the management of accounts receivable, including generating invoices, monitoring overdue payments, and assisting with collections.
- Assist in the preparation of regular financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
- Provide support with internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and supporting schedules.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance department, including data entry and filing of financial documents.
- Assist with bank reconciliations, petty cash management, and other routine finance tasks.
- Currently studying for or recently completed AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification.
- Previous experience supporting a finance team
- Intermediate Excel Skills
Salary £30,000 - £35,000 - hybrid working + excellent company benefits
