This well-established services organisation based in central Guildford is looking for a Finance Assistant to join their team. You will be joining an SME business that has a great working culture and has become a reputable industry name. This role will be office based with 1 day a week working from home once you complete probation. You will be given full training as well as an AAT study support package after 6 months. This is a brilliant role for someone with 1-2 years’ experience in accounts who is now looking for a varied, hands-on position.

Finance Assistant - About The Role

In this role you will be reporting into the Finance Manager and will be working within a small team of 2. You will be required to assist with the daily running of the finance function whilst also liaising with other departments.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Responsible for the reconciliation of supplier accounts - payables and receivables
  • Prepare timely accounts settlement and accurate account reconciliations
  • Managing the credit control function, building relationships with new & existing suppliers
  • Handling company expenses and credit card reconciliation
  • Maintaining daily cashflow and providing ad hoc financial reports for senior management
  • Assisting with the production of monthly management information for internal and external parties
  • Responsible for accurate completion of cashbooks and perform bank reconciliations on a regular basis
  • Providing administration support for finance and other departments

The successful Finance Assistant will have:

  • Previous experience in a finance position
  • Working knowledge of Sage would be beneficial
  • Studying or looking to study AAT
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Strong Excel skills
