Key Responsibilities

- Conduct practical experiments, ensuring students learn safely and effectively in a lab setting.
- Inspire students’ curiosity and analytical skills, fostering a deep understanding of chemical concepts.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored support.
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs, including SEN and EAL students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop engaging resources and innovative teaching strategies.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to promote academic and personal growth.
- Participate in departmental and whole-school activities, contributing to a culture of excellence.
- Encourage participation in extracurricular science activities, such as science clubs or competitions.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching Chemistry at the secondary level, including Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry and a passion for inspiring students.
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies in education.
Qualifications
- A degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Relevant teaching qualifications (PGCE or equivalent).
