We are seeking an exceptional and dynamic leader to become the Deputy Head of Humanities with a specialism in History. This role offers a passionate educator the opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Humanities department.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Work closely with the Curriculum Team Leader to ensure the quality of teaching and learning meets the high aspirations of our learners.
  • Play an ongoing role in curriculum refinement and development.
  • Assist with maintaining and developing a rigorous system of monitoring, evaluating, and improving the quality of teaching, learning, and student outcomes across the curriculum.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for innovation and willingness to explore new teaching methods.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • An honours degree and QTS Status.
  • Evidence of successful History teaching at KS3 and KS4.
  • Recent experience of teaching to all Key Stages.
  • Experience of performance management cycles and systems.
  • Demonstrated passion for History and a deep understanding of the National Curriculum.
  • Proven experience in planning and delivering engaging and effective History lessons.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, lead, motivate, inspire, and support students to achieve excellence.
