We are working with a dedicated school specializing in supporting secondary-aged students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment where every student can succeed academically and personally. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Science Teacher to join our team on a temp-to-perm basis starting in September.



Job Description:

As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated science lessons to secondary-aged students with SEMH needs. You will work closely with our dedicated staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment tailored to the individual needs of our students.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a science curriculum that is accessible and engaging for students with SEMH needs.
  • Create and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, support staff, and specialists to support student learning and well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEMH education and science teaching.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience working with secondary-aged students, preferably those with SEMH needs.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
