We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Science Teacher to join our team on a temp-to-perm basis starting in September.
Job Description:
As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated science lessons to secondary-aged students with SEMH needs. You will work closely with our dedicated staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment tailored to the individual needs of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a science curriculum that is accessible and engaging for students with SEMH needs.
- Create and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, support staff, and specialists to support student learning and well-being.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEMH education and science teaching.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience working with secondary-aged students, preferably those with SEMH needs.
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
