We are seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in maintaining and enhancing the educational standards of our school, which prides itself on outstanding learning environments for all pupils. The successful candidate will be instrumental in leading pupil learning and contributing to the school's continuous strive for excellence.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead pupil learning through effective teaching aligned with the Subject Team’s schemes of work and policies.
  • Manage the processes of identification, assessment, recording, and reporting for the pupils in charge.
  • Develop and improve schemes of work that encapsulate key school learning strategies and contribute to the Team Improvement Plan (TIP).
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods including group work, active learning, and ICT to meet curricular objectives and accommodate a range of pupil needs.
  • Ensure equal opportunities for all pupils to succeed through differentiation and Assessment for Learning.
  • Set and mark work regularly, maintaining an accurate register of pupils for each lesson, and ensure continuity and progression in teaching.
  • Prepare and present informative, helpful, and accurate reports to parents and track pupil progress using performance data to inform practice and raise standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialization in Science (Secondary Education).
  • Thorough knowledge of the National Curriculum, level descriptors, and examination course specifications.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and influence both pupils and colleagues.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of establishing effective working relationships.
  • Commitment to professional development and a proactive approach to learning new skills.
