As written by her ..
My disability is Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), which is a connective tissue disorder that causes very flexible joints, stretchy/ easily breakable skin and for myself, dysmotility throughout my digestive system and autonomic issues. I am also autistic and have ADHD.
This affects a lot of my social life; I often struggle when meeting new people and have difficulties with change. I will often mask my autistic/ADHD traits in social settings, but this quickly becomes exhausting, and I struggle even more to do this when I am tired/ in pain. I can become overwhelmed/ overstimulated quite suddenly- if this happens, I often just need to be guided to a quiet space.
Im a creative person who loves being in nature and having new adventures. I also love history and learning more and chatting about the things Im passionate about. I value inclusivity, especially around autism acceptance, disability justice and around the LGBTQ+ community.
In my free time I like to do crafty things (like embroidery and painting), hanging out with my friends, listening to audiobooks/ podcasts and going out into nature. Ive never been one for nights out/ clubbing, but I do like going to gigs, museums/ art galleries and the cinema. Sometimes I would want my PA to come with me and sometimes I like to go out with friends independently.
I would like a PA/s who can support me in all the things I love to do and would like to do in the future.
