Charity Service Manager

Role Overview

Our client, a children’s charity, is seeking a passionate and engaging Service Manager to lead and improve the delivery of the high-quality services they provide as well as working with the Board to bring new ideas in order to shape the charities strategic direction and drive meaningful impact to those who use the services.

We are looking for candidates who have extensive management experience of working within a charity or support services setting as your key responsibilities will be:

  • Oversee the delivery of services, ensuring they meet contractual, regulatory, and quality standards
  • Identify opportunities to develop new services or enhance existing ones to better serve the community.
  • Contribute to the charity’s strategic planning, ensuring services meet organisational objectives and stakeholder needs.
  • Ensure all services are financially sustainable using effective budget and cost management.
  • Lead, support, and inspire service delivery teams to achieve excellence
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee safeguarding, health and safety, and quality assurance processes.
  • Develop and manage service budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources
  • Monitor financial performance and prepare reports

Person Specification

  • Health and Social Care Qualification - Level 5 or above (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership or management role, ideally within the charity or non-profit sector.
  • Experience managing contracts, monitoring outcomes, and delivering against targets.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, with strong people management skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Flexible, solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or equivalent, if applicable).
