Learning Support Assistant Needed!

Hours: Strictly 08:30-16:30Rate: £85-£105 per dayLocation: Bramley, GuildfordJob Type: Full-time 5 days a week, Term Time (36 hours per week)School Type: SEMH school (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs)

Note: Must be full-time; sponsorships and part-time positions are not considered. Potential for temp to perm. 

Due to the rural location of the school, having your own transport is necessary.

Join a special school nestled in 42 acres of beautiful Surrey countryside, dedicated to supporting 70 students aged 10 to 16 with social, emotional, and mental health needs. We offer a dynamic curriculum that balances academic and practical subjects, helping each student discover their talents and prepare for a brighter future.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Support students both within and outside the classroom, working either within a teaching group or on a 1:1 basis.
  • Assist in delivering a tailored curriculum that helps students grow in self-confidence and develop essential life skills.
  • Engage with continuous professional development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting our unique student base.
  • Build relationships with students and work closely with them to break down barriers in SEMH.
  • Handle situations involving aggressive students and manage any incidents that may occur.
  • Provide daily breakdowns of the day at the end of each day, with support and training supplied.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working with students with SEMH and complex learning difficulties is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong commitment to professional growth and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dedicated team.
  • Due to the rural location of the school, having your own transport is necessary.
