We are seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about providing educational support to students with special educational needs, particularly those with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide tailored support to students with ASD and SEMH, ensuring they achieve their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.
- Work closely with the educational team to implement individualised learning plans.
- Assist in the development of social skills and positive behaviour in students.
- Monitor and support the progress of students, adapting techniques to meet their evolving needs.
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to education and wellbeing.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience as a psychology graduate or previous experience working with ASD/SEMH is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A compassionate and patient approach to educational support.
