I am currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants to join an Ofsted 'GOOD' SEN School in Guildford, starting ASAP


The roles will be full-time, long-term, supporting various aspects of education (all classroom based), 1:1 and group learning for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils (11 to 16 years old), the school caters for children & young people with SEMH and additional Learning Difficulties / Special Educational Needs.


Location: Highgate (GU5)

Duration: Long Term

Pay: £90-£100 (depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract: Monday - Friday (Full-Time)


The successful applicants will have:

Experience of working with or caring for children or young people (either Primary or Secondary, mixed gender)

Previous experience working with vulnerable individuals or SEN

Excellent Behaviour Management skills

A calm, patient manner and ability to react positively to a fast-changing environment

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, staff and parents/careers

Ability to competently use a computer and the Internet (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)

An Enhanced Child or Child & Adult Workforce barred list DBS Certificate registered on the update service


The role will consist of:

Providing support to pupils to achieve varied learning objectives

Assisting Class teachers to support a broad-based, appropriate curriculum

Establishing productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations

Monitoring and evaluate pupils' responses to learning activities through a range of assessment and monitoring strategies against pre-determined learning objectives

Being aware of pupil problems/progress/achievements and report to the teacher as agreed

Delivering learning activities to pupils within agreed system of supervision, adjusting activities according to pupil responses and needs

Supporting all staff in managing pupil behaviour, reporting difficulties as appropriate

Being prepared to attend appropriate training courses. This will include training on how to safely restrain pupils
