Reed Education are urgently seeking a dedicated SEMH/SEN Teacher to join our team at a secondary level (Years 7-11). The ideal candidate will be compassionate, versatile, and committed to providing a comprehensive education to students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) and special educational needs (SEN).

Day to Day of the role:
  • Deliver engaging lessons across a range of subjects including English, Maths, Science, PSHE, Art, and Humanities, tailored to students with SEMH and SEN needs.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of students working at Functional Skills level.
  • Collaborate with specialist teachers for PE, DT, and Food Tech.
  • Work alongside two Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) in each classroom.
  • Manage small class sizes, ensuring individual attention for no more than 8 students per class.
  • Utilize the support of a science technician for practical lessons.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that addresses the social, emotional, and mental health needs of students.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching multiple subjects at the secondary level, particularly with SEMH and SEN students.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a passion for supporting students with diverse needs.
