Assistant Estimator
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Estimator to join an established main contractor based in Guildford. The contractor has a presence across the south of England and operates out of several regional offices. They undertake projects across several sectors including commercial, education, healthcare and extra care valuing up to 25mil. Projects are procured via a mix of single and two-stage tenders and the business has won a place on various local frameworks.
About the role of Assistant Estimator:
As Assistant Estimator, you will be working within the pre-construction team and closely with the Senior Estimator to compile tenders which not only fulfill the clients needs but are competitively priced. There is plenty of opportunity in this role to progress and will eventually lead you to managing your own tenders within the team.
Key Responsibilities as Assistant Estimator:
- Be involved in tenders valuing up to 25mil
- Work from first principles
- Work collaboratively with commercial and Operational teams to produce competitive tenders
- Report into the Senior Estimator
- Be involved in pre-start meetings and handover with delivery teams.
Key Requirements for this Assistant Estimator role:
- Have undertaken a construction related degree / HNC
- Will ideally have 3 years' experience in an estimating role
- Have the full right to work in the UK
- Live within a commutable distance to Guildford and be happy to commute to office and sites as required.
