Sustainability Assistant

Job location: Guildford, Surrey

Job Salary: £28,000

Excellent junior level opportunity within the biomethane production and anaerobic digestion management space to support renewable energy certification and sustainability initiatives. This includes overseeing Guarantee of Origin registries, coordinating trades and certifications, supporting RHI compliance, and contributing to sustainability research and documentation.

Key Duties:

  • Administer Renewable Gas Guarantee of Origin registries and internal databases.
  • Coordinate Guarantees of Origin trades.
  • Coordinate voluntary biomass fuel certification for various sites.
  • Support compliance with the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) UK Government scheme.
  • Provide research support on sustainability and certification strategies and assist in the development of Project Carbon Harvest (PCH).
  • Support the development and implementation of sustainability guidelines.
  • Contribute to sustainability documentation, the development of standards and policies, and the continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
  • Support wider teams with written content, research, and outreach.
  • Develop an understanding of UK the UK’s policy and sustainability sectors

Key Requirements:

  • Applicants should have a STEM based bachelor’s degree.
  • Methodical problem-solving with good attention-to-detail
  • Experience with data transformation and cleaning tools to efficiently prepare datasets for analysis.
  • Expertise in developing interactive reports and dashboards for data visualisation.
  • Strong organisational skills with a focus on process improvement and procedural optimisation
