IT Infrastructure Manager

We are seeking a skilled IT Infrastructure Manager to oversee and enhance our clients IT systems, including servers, networking, storage, and cloud-based solutions. This role also involves managing ground station communications and ensuring our technology aligns with the company’s forward-thinking strategy to drive innovation and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and optimize IT infrastructure, ensuring secure, reliable, and effective operations that support business needs.
  • Lead and develop the IT Infrastructure team, managing recruitment, performance reviews, training, and succession planning to ensure long-term success.
  • Define and oversee the IT infrastructure budget, ensuring cost-effective investments in technology.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance system architecture and security while improving business efficiency.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to provide tailored solutions, supporting global ground stations, development networks, and cloud integrations.
  • Oversee infrastructure services, from design to deployment, ensuring effective change management and adherence to best practices.
  • Manage hybrid IT environments, identifying opportunities for cloud adoption where beneficial.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 (process standards) and ISO 27001 (security standards).
  • Oversee routine system maintenance, including updates, patch management, and virtual infrastructure upkeep.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate vulnerabilities to maintain a secure IT environment.
  • Provide third-line support for escalated IT issues, ensuring swift and efficient resolution in line with service-level agreements.
  • Continuously assess and improve IT infrastructure performance, leveraging automation to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with security and service teams to ensure seamless IT operations across the organization.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, aligning IT initiatives with business objectives.
  • Perform other duties as required by senior IT leadership.

RequirementsQualifications

  • Degree in Computing, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as ITIL, CISA, or CISSP are beneficial but not essential.
  • Must be eligible for SC level clearance. Must be a UK Citizen

Experience & Skills

  • Strong background in IT infrastructure management, including hybrid environments.
  • Proficiency in system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and balance priorities effectively.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of developing and mentoring teams.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Solid understanding of security best practices and incident management processes.
  • Ability to implement automation tools to improve system efficiency and accuracy.
