Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Class Teacher to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational PRU Settings in Billingham on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.

About the Role:

  • The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons that inspire 11-16 year old pupils with a wide range of SEN and allows all pupils to make progress.
  • Working with Secondary aged pupils within a PRU setting who have a wide range of SEN and challenging behaviour
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner
  • Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and earning styles of all pupils.
  • Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress
  • Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
  • Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience

About the School:

  • The role is based in an inspirational PRU setting in Billingham.
  • The School supports pupils aged 11-16 that have been temporarily excluded from mainstream School
  • The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a Team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.

Pay, Hours and Contract:

  • Pay - Between £130-180 per day
  • Hours - 08.30-16.00
  • Contract - Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2025. Temporary Contract.
  • Start Date - ASAP.
  • Location - Billingham

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:

  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
  • QTS and Teaching experience in either Primary or Secondary School settings within the UK.
  • Strong Behaviour Management skills
  • Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport
  • A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work
  • Experience of Teaching within the UK
  • A genuine passion for Teaching
  • Strong organisation and communication skills
