We work to safeguard animal and plant health for the benefit of people, the environment and the economy.

We are looking to recruit Clerical/ Admin Officers for our Team based in our Cardiff Office.

You will be working in a friendly and supportive team in a fast paced, reactive, and varied role. You will need to have good IT and organisation skills and the flexibility to turn your hand to different tasks as the situation demands. The position is customer facing and will involve making outbound calls to garner information and answering calls from APHA customers daily providing the appropriate response. The role will suit those who have an ability to communicate well to a diverse group of customers and who respond and react readily with customers on the telephone. You will be engaging with a broad range of partners and forming relationships with colleagues across the wider Defra team. You will be ensuring accurate records are kept and updated accordingly, data input using various IT systems in accordance with APHA Data Protection legislation

This is a Hybrid position with 40-60% in the office per month with some flexibility

Essential Skills

  • 5 GCSEs grade C and above including Math & English
  • 1 years' experience working in an office environment
  • answering & making calls
  • Microsoft packages

The rate of pay is 12.88 per hour and the working week is 37hrs.
