We are looking to recruit for a TSS (TEST Support Section) Manager for our established and growing company in South Wales.

The role will be managing a small technical team, the Manager is responsible for the operation of the performance test facility onsite.

Duties:

  • Ensuring safe and efficient operation of the TSS test facilities within procedural and regulatory requirements.
  • Direct line management of staff including safety and effective work allocation.
  • Comprehensive understanding and correct application of relevant UK, EU and global test standards - including - Ventilation Unit and Fan Performance, Noise, Thermal efficiency (e.g. heat exchangers and heat pumps), and Smoke Control.
  • Operation, calibration, and maintenance of Test equipment and TSS facility assets.
  • Management and output response of the Test Request system.
  • Collation, Assessment and Validation of test results.
  • Compilation of test results into useful technical data in the appropriate format.
  • Provision of detailed technical information relevant to product regulatory compliance.
  • Liaison with 3rd party test and research organisations.
  • Development of a programme of innovative technical research relating to core ventilation products.

Skills:

Degree level and practical expertise in the following:

  • Fluids, air movement and measurement
  • Acoustics - measurement and application related.
  • Laboratory Instrumentation and control systems.
  • Data processing and analysis. (desktop tools and bespoke solutions)
  • Also working knowledge of electrical power systems (motors and drives), thermofields, and mechanical design would be advantageous.
  • A working knowledge of product related testing - e.g. Electrical Safety, EMC. Is required.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills are required as the role involves liaison with technical specialists within the business and the wider industry.
