Senior Marine Consultant
Competitive salary
Dunbar, East Lothian, Scotland (potential for remote/flexible working)

Allen & York are thrilled to be working with a highly respected technology-focussed marine science consultancy, specialising in marine fauna, underwater-sound monitoring, acoustical and statistical modelling. With an impressive global client list, this is a great opportunity to join a leading consultancy at an exciting time in its growth.

Our client is looking for a passionate Senior Marine Consultant to lead the team in multiple disciplines and offshore sectors, including renewables, construction, oil and gas. The successful candidate will provide advice for environmental impact assessments, licencing, equipment specifications, project design and management.

You'll need to hold a degree in a relevant discipline with extensive experience within the marine environmental industry. You will have solid experience in offshore fieldwork (e.g. MMO/PAM/Environmental Scientist) and in a leadership role. With a demonstrable track record of successful execution of contracts, the successful candidate will have a good understanding and knowledge of cameras (RGB and IR), sonars, C-PODs/F-PODs, noise measurement, Passive Acoustic Monitoring (arrays/buoys/static recorders), ADCPs, acoustic releases, buoys and mooring configurations. An excellent communicator, you'll be able to work on your own initiative, have the ability to efficiently delegate to other team members and be commercially aware.

Knowledge and experience of environmental surveys, MMO and PAM training and offshore survival certifications (e.g. BOSIET and medical) would be advantageous to this role.

In return for your specialist skills and experience, you'll receive a competitive salary and benefits package, combined with the unique opportunity to work on funded research projects, using state of the art technology.
