The Role:
Long Term Futures is looking for a dedicated and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join a high-achieving secondary school in Hackney. This Ofsted-rated 'Good' school prides itself on creating a positive learning environment where students are given the best support to succeed both academically and personally.
This role will involve working closely with a small group of students who require positive role models to guide them through their school day. You will provide mentorship, behaviour interventions, and in-class support to help them stay engaged, develop resilience, and make positive choices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support small groups of students who require additional guidance in and out of lessons
- Act as a role model, helping students manage their behaviour and engage positively with learning
- Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions, focusing on personal development and academic motivation
- Assist teachers in classroom management, ensuring students remain on task and involved in lessons
- Implement behaviour strategies to encourage positive decision-making and emotional regulation
- Work closely with pastoral teams, SENCo, and Heads of Year to support student progress
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working as a Behaviour Mentor, Pastoral Support, or Teaching Assistant in a secondary school
- A strong role model with the ability to build positive relationships with students
- Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations
- A patient, understanding, and resilient approach to supporting students with additional needs
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
Additional Information:
- Full-time role, Monday to Friday
- Paid up to 125 per day, term time only
- Based in Hackney, London, with excellent transport links
- Immediate start, with potential for a long-term placement
