We are seeking a Finance Controller to lead our finance operations within a dynamic and versatile team. This role is crucial for managing our financial activities and ensuring the company's profitability and financial health.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage day-to-day finance operations including the preparation of financial and management accounts.
- Oversee cash flow management, aiming to optimise profits and minimise losses.
- Establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls to ensure financial integrity.
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks and MS Office 365 to reflect the company’s true financial position.
- Process payroll, CIS, and VAT records, ensuring timely submissions and payments to HMRC.
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations with HMRC, FCA, and other regulatory authorities.
- Liaise with company bankers, lenders, and accountants, serving as the first point of contact for the annual audit.
- Maintain accurate filing systems and handle telephone and email enquiries efficiently.
- Observe and enforce all company Health & Safety requirements.
- Support and assist other members of the Finance Team and contribute to departmental and company-wide targets.
- Support the General Manager and business owner, undertaking additional duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in financial management and accounting.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, MS Office 365, and other relevant accounting software.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of statutory legislation and regulations.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
