The Role:

The school is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher to deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop their understanding of biology, chemistry, and physics, fostering a love for science.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach a range of topics across biology, chemistry, and physics
  • Support and challenge students to reach their full potential, adapting teaching strategies as needed
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and targeted support
  • Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and department initiatives
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, such as science clubs, competitions, or field trips
Essential Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting
  • Experience teaching across KS3, KS4, and KS5
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Science
  • An up-to-date DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • A commitment to inspiring students and fostering a love for Science
Desirable Skills & Experience:
  • Experience with GCSE and A-Level Science delivery
  • Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
  • Knowledge of different teaching strategies to engage a diverse range of learners
  • Familiarity with exam board specifications and assessment criteria
  • Ability to contribute to whole-school STEM and sustainability initiatives
