Role: Furnace Technician

Are you an experienced Furnace Technician with a strong electrical bias and expertise in gas systems and pyrometry? Join a leading engineering company in Halesowen and play a critical role in maintaining and improving furnace reliability.
About the Role
As a Furnace Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of all furnaces on-site. You will manage and carry out routine maintenance, calibration, and repair tasks while maintaining meticulous records to support operational excellence. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting daily checks to ensure all furnaces are functioning correctly.
- Performing and documenting system accuracy tests (SATs) and preventative maintenance.
- Overseeing furnace instrument calibrations, thermocouple calibration, and replacement programs.
- Maintaining and organizing all calibration records and certificates.
- Leading and supervising electricians, contractors, and apprentices as part of the Maintenance Team.
- Attending and contributing to weekly maintenance and production meetings.
- Supporting long-term succession planning for furnace engineering roles.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring:
- A strong electrical bias with a solid engineering background.
- Gas Safe certification and practical experience in gas systems.
- Expertise in pyrometry, including thermocouple calibration and furnace survey schedules.
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach to maintenance and documentation.
- Leadership skills to guide and mentor team members effectively.
