JOB SUMMARY:

As the Joinery Workshop Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end production process for exhibition, event and other relevant builds. Ensuring that our projects are executed flawlessly, meeting high-quality standards, and delivered on time and within budget.

Job Description: Workshop Manager

To lead and manage the production team, providing guidance, mentoring and ensuring a culture of excellence.

  • Develop and execute production strategies to meet project goals and deadlines.
  • Collaborate closely with the design and sales teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Create detailed production plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.
  • Ensure efficient project execution, monitoring progress, and addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Maintain high standards of quality throughout the production process, conducting regular quality checks and inspections.
  • Ensure that all workshop tools and machinery are regularly inspected and maintained.
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives and best practices.
  • Manage production resources, including materials, equipment, and staffing to optimise efficiency and minimise waste.
  • Procure materials where relevant and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Ensure that appropriate vehicles are allocated as required for loading and transport to install venues.
  • Monitor production budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Ensure a safe and compliant working environment for the production team, adhering to industry regulations and best practices.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, costs, and timelines.
  • Provide regular progress reports to the senior management team.
  • Act as an advocate for company processes, owning, following and where relevant, supporting their evolution to ensure effectiveness, from enquiry, quotation and project cycle to production and delivery.
  • Ownership of cost control and project profitability within your remit - all orders raised must be in line with approved budgets, any concerns or issues should be raised to client leads and Head of Operations
