About the Role

As a Design Engineer, you'll take concepts from idea to reality, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery of world-class automated systems.

Main Purpose

Design bespoke machines, systems, and configurable robotic solutions that meet customer specifications while ensuring quality, cost, and delivery targets are achieved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design & Development:

    • Conceptualise, design, and detail systems from start to finish.

    • Produce part lists and organise material orders.

  • Project Support:

    • Participate in customer meetings and support project updates.

    • Monitor budgets and schedules to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.

  • Compliance & Quality:

    • Ensure designs meet ISO 9001, CE/UKCA standards, and internal guidelines.

    • Create supporting documentation like user manuals and test reports.

  • System Improvement:

    • Design pneumatic systems, specify sensors, and optimise design standards.

    • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in design processes.

About You

You’re a proactive, solutions-focused engineer with a passion for automation. You thrive on turning complex problems into simple, efficient solutions.

What You’ll Need:

  • Qualifications: Degree or equivalent in Engineering.

  • Experience: Proven experience designing automated systems or similar machinery.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in 2D AutoCAD and 3D CAD (e.g., Inventor) with a strong grasp of design principles.

  • Personal Attributes: Creative problem-solver, detail-driven, able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
