About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Heat Treatment Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of the heat treatment process at our facility in Halesowen. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of heat treatment techniques, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all heat treatment operations, ensuring processes meet production and quality standards.
- Develop and implement efficient heat treatment procedures to optimize performance and minimize waste.
- Supervise and lead a team of heat treatment operators, providing training and guidance.
- Monitor furnace performance, temperatures, and cycle times, making adjustments as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and health & safety standards.
- Conduct quality control checks to verify metallurgical properties meet customer and specification requirements.
- Maintain accurate production records, reports, and process documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve processes and resolve technical issues.
- Manage stock levels of materials, ensuring efficient usage and availability.
- Investigate and troubleshoot equipment issues or process failures, coordinating maintenance when required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in heat treatment management within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of metallurgy, furnace operations, and heat treatment processes such as annealing, tempering, carburizing, and quenching.
- Knowledge of quality control standards and testing procedures related to heat treatment.
- Experience in leading and managing teams, with strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, solve problems, and make data-driven decisions.
- Familiarity with health & safety regulations and industry compliance requirements.
- Strong IT and record-keeping skills.
