Pastoral Lead & Deputy DSL - Halesowen.

We are seeking a Pastoral Lead and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (Deputy DSL) to work in one of our schools in Halesowen. For this role, you will be one of the first points of contact for staff and outside agencies for safeguarding issues. To deputise for the Head with regards to incidents connected with Child Protection/ CIN and any other category of child protection required. You will work with pupils who have particular SEMH needs, providing more support and work under the supervision and guidance of the SENDCo.

Key Features: Deputy DSL
* First point of contact for staff / outside agencies for safeguarding.
* Lead, manage and liaise with various authorities (MAST), school nurse and attendance officer.
* Attend multi agency meetings.
* Multi-agency referral - reporting concerns (MARF) proformas & discussing with the DSL before submitting.
* Deputise for Head at CIN meetings.
* Relevant documents completed in an accurate and timely manner.
* Monitor and maintain CPOMS throughout the school.

Pastoral Support
* Alongside SENDCo, lead and manage the pastoral team, including ELSAs.
* Work closely and effectively with the SENDCo.
* Implement agreed work programmes.
* Track and progress pupil progress using intervention data.
* Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress.
* Support and cover pupils/staff in the school's nurture provision.
* Establish productive working relationships.
* Oversee lunchtime provisions by being point of contact for all on lunch duty.
* To promote health body and healthy minds across the school, including leading on initiatives such as Walk to School.
* Ensure all pupils are safe.
* Promote effective transfer and integration of pupils across different phases.
* Liaise with feeder schools and other relevant bodies.
* Develop and implement strategies to manage and promote positive behaviours and attitudes.
* Be apart of weekly pastoral planning sessions.

Support for School.
* Assess pupil needs and contribute to the development of IEP's.
* Observe and report on pupil performance.
* Implement and evaluate curriculum plans.
* Provide specialist language support.
* Ensure compliance with policies related to Child Protection, Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, Security, Confidentiality, and Data Protection.
