Are you a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable school in Halesowen, seeking a skilled and patient individual to work one-on-one with a Year 2 pupil with autism, limited verbal communication, and complex, challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to a Year 2 pupil with SEND needs, ensuring their safety and educational development.
  • Follow a structured timetable designed to meet the specific needs of the pupil.
  • Implement strategies to manage and positively influence challenging behaviour.
  • Support the pupil's social and emotional development, promoting inclusion and well-being.
  • Work closely with the school's SENCO, teachers, and other support staff to create a cohesive support plan.
  • Maintain accurate records of the pupil's progress and behaviour, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Additional SEN-specific training or courses.
  • Experience working with children with autism and complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work full-time, following the school's term schedule.
