This is an exciting opportunity for a tax professional looking to take the next step in their career, working with a firm that invests in its people and offers clear progression pathways. As the new Tax Assistant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in both the office and firm's tax team, working closely with a diverse range of clients. You'll provide expert tax advice, ensuring compliance with tax legislation while identifying opportunities to optimise tax positions. In addition to managing a portfolio of clients, you'll mentor junior staff and contribute to the continuous development of the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, delivering tax compliance and advisory services.
  • Provide expert guidance on corporate and personal tax matters, helping clients navigate complex tax legislation.
  • Review tax computations and returns prepared by junior staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in tax planning projects, identifying opportunities for clients to maximise efficiency.
  • Train and mentor junior team members, fostering their technical development.
  • Stay up to date with changes in tax legislation and ensure best practices are implemented.

What the client is looking For:

  • ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified or working towards a CTA qualification.
  • Strong background in tax compliance and advisory, ideally within an accountancy practice.
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of clients and build strong professional relationships.
  • Experience in mentoring or training junior team members.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly.
