Tax Semi-Senior | Halifax/Bradford | Full Time – 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday | £25,000 - £30,000

Our client is a well – established firm of Chartered Certified Accountants based in West Yorkshire. They provide excellent accounting and taxation services to individuals, owner managed businesses and SMEs in various business sectors within the UK.

They are delighted to be recruiting for a Tax Semi – Senior to join their current experienced team.

Working as part of a small team, you will assist the Managers and Partners in delivering the required accounting/tax compliance services to various clients.

Full on-the-job training and support towards professional examinations.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • 2 years experience working in a tax role within a practice
  • AAT/ATT/ACCA part qualified
  • Studying for CTA or ACCA qualification
  • Excellent written communication skills – especially in composing letters to clients and HMRC
  • Self motivated
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to build rapport effectively and professionally with colleagues, clients, and external contracts
  • Highly numerate
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Ability to prioritise and effectively manage a varied workload
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Work as part of a team to ensure deadlines are met
  • Ability to quickly learn new software applications
  • Experience in using MS Office – especially Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Willing to work overtime at peak periods
  • Must be car driver and own your own vehicle

What will your role look like?

  • Preparation of Income and Expenditure Accounts
  • Self-assessment Tax Returns for individuals, self-employed businesses and partnerships
  • Corporation tax returns
  • Attend meetings with clients to obtain necessary information
  • Resolve tax queries and administer general correspondence from clients and external organisations
  • Assist Line Manager and colleagues with tax/administration services
  • Sending tax reminders to clients
  • Undertake ad-hoc tasks such as 64-8s and mortgage applications
