Fernside Hall is a wonderful, residential care home for adults with a relaxed, family feel to the home. We are located in the Manor Heath / Savile Park area of Halifax, a few miles from the town centre.

As a smaller than average residential home, our amazing and dedicated staff team can spend lots of time supporting the 22 adults living in our homely surroundings with their day to day living and ensure they live safely. We support people on either a permanent placement or for shorter, respite stays as well.

Our staff are experienced to support individuals 24 hours a day, in a personalised and safe way. We have experience of supporting people who live with the early symptoms of Dementia.

Working as a Maintenance at Fernside Hall your duties will include the following:

  • Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
  • Performing preventative maintenance.
  • Handling basic repairs and maintenance.
  • Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
  • Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.
  • Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
  • Taking apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
  • Checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogues as necessary.
  • Using common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
  • Keeping the Garden tidy including mowing the lawns.

Necessary Experience or Qualifications:

Someone who has a real passion for maintenance and high-quality work.

  • Proven maintenance experience.
  • Must be a Driver with a Current and Valid Driving License.
  • Ability to work on shift/rota pattern.
  • Have the right to the work in the UK.
  • Good working knowledge of industry legislation and safe practices.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
