Structural Design Engineer Job Overview:

  • Experience in temporary works design is advantageous but not essential.
  • Work independently, raising necessary queries and coordinating information with clients, engineers, architects, and subcontractors.
  • Manage and work within design budgets.
  • Report directly to the Head of Design.
  • Attend project meetings and maintain a proactive role throughout the design process.
  • Adhere to company QA procedures.
  • Liaise with various departments to meet project demands.
  • Contribute to training and mentoring graduate design engineers.
  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with clients to secure positive feedback.
  • Play an active role in the continuous improvement of the business, passing on core principles and goals to staff.

Structural Design Engineer Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in structural steelwork design, with in-depth knowledge of relevant design codes and software.
  • Degree educated, ideally working towards Incorporated or Chartered status.
  • Experienced in structural steel member and connection design, with expertise in using Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Portal Designer, and Masterseries software.
