CNC Machinist | Halifax | Full Time | 41 hours per week - 7:30am to 4:15pm Monday Thursday and 7:30 to 4.00pm Friday with each day including a 30-minute lunch break | £13-£16 per hour

Our client is an interpretation design practice creating visitor experiences for museums, heritage and culture. Their approach puts visitors and communities first, building connection, meaning and pride through co-creation and human-centred design.

They are currently seeking a Woodworking Machinist; your contributions will not only be integral to day-to-day operations but will also play a crucial part in crafting immersive experiences.

You will join a hands-on, multi-disciplinary team based in West Yorkshire and working nationwide.

The design studio is on the first floor of a vibrant historic mill complex, it is open-plan with a variety of working environments and is fully accessible and benefits from lots of natural light.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Proficiency in Xilog Plus or equivalent software, or ability to transfer knowledge from similar systems
  • Understanding of G Code and capability to modify programs accordingly
  • Hands-on experience operating CNC machinery
  • Competence in setting up and maintaining tooling
  • Proficient in the accurate interpretation of technical drawings, standard operating procedures, and works orders paperwork
  • Strong focus on Quality Control with a keen eye for detail
  • Methodical and organised approach to work with good mathematical skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately within deadlines
  • Proficiency in computer skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Collaboration within a team environment

What will your role look like?

  • Operate a SCM Morbidelli 3-axis CNC nesting machine efficiently and accurately
  • Perform operations on a SCM Olympic edge bander with precision
  • Utilize a Felder semi-automated panel saw to cut materials as per specifications
  • Conduct regular maintenance on all three machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity
  • Uphold and promote high standards of Health and Safety protocols in the workplace
