Data Analyst - SQL Reporting - MOSAIC Project

We are seeking a highly specialised Data Analyst to join our team on behalf of a local authority. This role is crucial for priming the delivery of the technical elements of the Reporting Strategy for the Mosaic Project. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with the Mosaic case management system and a strong background in SQL database tools and architecture.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead database design, development, maintenance, and management initiatives.
  • Design, develop, and implement automated data flows to extract, transform, and join data sources for analytics and business intelligence systems.
  • Review manual data flows and identify opportunities for automation.
  • Develop and maintain metadata repositories.
  • Write optimised queries, views, and triggers for integration with various data sources.
  • Produce and maintain data models across multiple subject areas.
  • Reverse-engineer data models from a range of operational and transactional systems.
  • Mentor and upskill permanent council employees within the Reporting Team to independently create and maintain Mosaic reports.
  • Deliver training to team members and conduct thorough testing phases.
  • Manage data dictionaries and metadata with regular maintenance and detailed record-keeping.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server tools, including SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Synapse and/or Data Factory (desirable).
  • Proficiency in various SQL standards (e.g., T-SQL, PL/SQL).
  • Advanced SQL skills, with the ability to transform, extract, manipulate, and join/match data from a variety of sources.
  • Experience in designing SQL database architecture within major software platforms (e.g., Liquidlogic LCS/EHM, Servelec Synergy/Mosaic, SAP, ERP, OLM CareFirst).
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with the Mosaic case management system and its reporting infrastructure.
  • Knowledge and skills with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) and Power BI.
  • Experience in delivering training and mentoring team members.
