Join our dedicated team as a SEMH Teaching Assistant in the Halifax HX3 area, working within a specialist setting. You'll play a crucial role in supporting students across KS2, KS3, and KS4, providing essential guidance and assistance to help them achieve their full potential. This is a full-time position, with standard hours from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH and SEN, helping them engage with learning activities and manage their behaviour effectively.
  • Assist in the assessment of students' educational and emotional needs, contributing to the development and implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Work closely with teachers and other educational professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Implement strategies to support positive behaviour and manage challenging behaviours in accordance with school policies.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH/SEN needs in an educational setting.
  • Ability to support students across KS2, KS3, and KS4 with learning and behavioural difficulties.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH and strategies for managing challenging behaviours.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK without Sponsorship.
