Academics are looking for an enthusiastic special educational needs teaching assistant who is engaging and willing to take on different challenges throughout the day. Academics are looking for people that are free to work on a full time and part time basis, based in the Calderdale area (Calder Valley).

The suitable candidate should be hard working, reliable and empathetic as they will be working closely with children with SEN. Located in Halifax, the 'outstanding'' school is warm and welcoming, driven and has fantastic progress and results for all pupils including SEND children.

Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Supporting SEN children with their development, following their Individual Education Plans (IEP's).
  • Working alongside the teacher to help with planning and creating engaging activities to adhere to the different learning styles.
  • Works well under pressure and can work well with an enthusiastic team.
  • Adhere to the school behaviour strategies to create a safe environment.
  • Creating a comfortable, inclusive environment so that the SEN students feel valued, supported and have love for learning.
