Axon Moore are supporting an entrepreneurial and fast-paced business based near to Halifax, West Yorkshire, in the appointment of their Finance & Operations Director.The business has multi-site operations and offers a wide range of products and services to its customers. The Finance & Operations Director role is extremely broad and encompasses an operational leadership element as well as overseeing finance.The role will report into the CEO of the business with a dotted line report to the Group CFO. There are also progression routes for this person to become the Managing Director in the future.Key responsibilities of this role will include:
  • Influencing the strategic direction of the business, overseeing budgets, forecasts and financial planning initiatives for the business
  • Forming a key part of the site senior leadership team, taking on a broader remit beyond finance
  • Overseeing operational costs of the business, seeking improvements and efficiencies
  • Keeping a close eye on key business drivers, fluctuations in performance, acting upon business opportunities
  • Supporting the sales activities of the business with clear lines of communication, robust challenging and commercial decision making
  • Overseeing the monthly reporting and accounting activities of the finance function
The ideal candidate for this role would possess the following skills and experience:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong operational experience in a financial leadership role
  • Experience within manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, or a similar tangible and fast moving industry
  • Exposure to leading a team, including management, mentoring and development
  • Strong commercial acumen, ability to influence strategic decision making
This is a highly visible role in the organisation and therefore requires an individual to be on site 5 days per week, so it is imperative that candidates are based locally to the organisation.
