XCL are working with a leading manufacturer in the engineering industry, committed to delivering high-quality products to our customers. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Manual Grinder to join our team and contribute to our production process.

Working Hours:

Monday - Thursday 7am - 4pm 

Friday 7am - 1pm 

Job Summary:

The Manual Grinder will be responsible for operating grinding machines to perform a variety of manual grinding operations on metal parts and components. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing environment and possess a strong understanding of grinding techniques. This position will require you to be able to work with metric measurements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate manual grinding machines, including but not limited to surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and centerless grinders.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine grinding requirements.
  • Set up and adjust grinding machines, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy.
  • Grind, deburr, and finish parts to meet precise specifications and tolerances.
  • Inspect and measure finished products using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance on grinding equipment and troubleshoot minor issues.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and ensure efficient workflow.
  • Document work performed and maintain accurate records of parts processed.
