Salary - £50,000 - £70,000 Per Annum

Job Purpose

This role is key to converting sales opportunities into project revenue by managing the estimation process. Responsibilities include accurately estimating project costs to ensure competitiveness while maintaining agreed margins. The role also involves leading, managing, and developing the Estimating team to meet key performance indicators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit and develop a high-performing Estimating and Sales team.

  • Manage all incoming enquiries and negotiate with subcontractors for competitive pricing.

  • Execute and convert a minimum of three enquiries per week while supporting the team in achieving their targets.

  • Liaise with clients, engineers, architects, and internal teams.

  • Provide accurate reports on enquiry status and pipeline to leadership on a weekly basis.

  • Attend pre-tender interviews and post-tender presentations.

  • Develop and maintain client and consultant relationships.

  • Regularly review team performance and provide feedback for improvement.

Person Specification
  • BSc/HNC in Building Studies or a related field.

  • Knowledge of building construction, structural, and civil engineering.

  • Experience in steelwork design and cost estimation.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Experience pricing projects ranging from 50 to 3,000 tonnes.

  • Strong commercial awareness and experience dealing with contractors, engineers, and architects.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and 3D computer analysis tools.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Experience in value engineering and problem-solving.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Line management experience.

Job Information & Benefits
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible working options.
