Merrifield Consultants are thrilled to partner with the fantastic Yorkshire Children's Charity based in Halifax, to find their new Trusts and Foundations Manager to work with the CEO to develop and grow a fundraising strategy. You will be responsible for all Trusts and Foundations income generation and you will be expected to deliver high-value fundraising proposals.Job Title: Trusts and Foundations ManagerOrganisation: Yorkshire Children's CharitySalary: £30,000 - £35,000Location: Halifax, YorkshireContract: Permanent, Full-time and Part-time considered (Hybrid working and remote considered)Reporting to: CEOClosing date: Friday 15th November 2024Required: CV and Cover LetterThis is a charity with a wealth of experience, a big heart, and the opportunity for those who work with and support them to have a real say in shaping the future.Yorkshire Children's Charity doesn't solely provide financial help. They also offer friendship and support, assisting children in Yorkshire with the changing needs as they grow up.Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and growing the database of trusts and foundations with potential to support Yorkshire Children's Charities, prospecting funders for new and growing programmes. You will have access to FundsOnline to support prospecting.
  • Work with the Board of Trustees to map connections with Trusts & Foundations and establish a plan of introductions/stewardship to be managed by Trustees
  • Proactively seek out trusts and foundations who support capital projects.
  • Work with the CEO to develop a funding strategy for the Great Yorkshire Build.
  • Manage Trust income in line with donor requirements.
  • Identify and build relationships with trusts and foundations through proactive stewardship to secure new donors and retain existing donors.

Skills and Experience:

  • A strong work ethic with a passion for helping children
  • Experience working within Trusts and Foundations in the charity sector, writing well researched and engaging proposals
  • A proven track record of securing bids through Trusts and Foundations in the Charity sector
  • Excellent grant writing and project budgeting skills
  • Drive, ambition, and a strong sense of initiative
  • A willingness to learn and take on additional responsibility
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel and Power Point)
