Are you ready to take the lead in a newly created HR role?

We’re thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for an HR Officer/Generalist to join a leading and innovative organisation in Halifax. In this newly created role, you’ll have the chance to lead, shape, and centralise the HR function for a team of approximately 100 employees within the thriving engineering and manufacturing sector. This role is a stand alone position.

Your Role: Key Responsibilities

As a pivotal part of our team, you’ll:

  • Transform and Modernise HR: Review, refresh, and update HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with the latest regulations.
  • Foster a Positive Work Culture: Address employee relations matters proactively to maintain an engaged and motivated workforce.
  • Drive Recruitment Excellence: Oversee recruitment processes to attract and retain top talent, collaborating closely with hiring managers to define job specifications.
  • Enhance Onboarding & Offboarding: Organise and improve induction programs for new hires while managing seamless transitions for departing employees.
  • Boost Retention and Development: Lead initiatives to improve employee retention, reduce turnover, and support career growth.
  • Champion Performance Management: Conduct performance appraisals to enhance productivity, encourage staff development, and identify training opportunities.
  • Resolve Workplace Issues: Provide expert conflict resolution to maintain harmony and productivity.
  • Maintain Compliance and Records: Ensure accurate, confidential, and GDPR-compliant employee records are maintained.

Who You’ll Work With:

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor, offering vital guidance to managers and employees across the organisation.
