Senior 3D Furniture Designer | Halifax | Full Time | £40,000 to £45,000 dependent on experience
Are you an experienced 3D Furniture Designer with detailed knowledge of Bespoke Joinery production methods who is looking for a new challenge in a thriving?
Our client is on the lookout for a talented individual to join a dynamic design team. As a well-established company with a strong reputation in the industry, they provide design and build services to a diverse range of clients, including the museum sector, large retailers, main contractors, and independently owned businesses.
The team operates from a well-equipped factory in Halifax, boasting an in-house design team, bench joinery experts, and skilled site joiners. They are part of a larger group of companies that have been making significant investments in their growth.

As a Senior 3D Furniture Designer, you will be an integral part of the design team, contributing to the technical design and development of client inquiries. You will have access to guidance and training as you carve out your position within this growing business.
To succeed in this role, you will have proficiency in creating technically sound furniture drawings that can be effectively translated into physical constructions by a Joiner. You will possess the unique combination of design creativity and hands-on joinery expertise, ensuring that your drawings not only look good but can also be seamlessly executed in the construction process.
Are you the right person for the job?
- 5+ years of experience in the bespoke joinery sector using SolidWorks
- Understanding of joinery manufacturing methods, materials, and finishes
- Proven ability to generate accurate, detailed production drawings/technical drawings
- Well-organized with the ability to manage fast turnarounds from initial concept to design solution and manufacture
- Team player with a collaborative mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Problem solver with a positive attitude in the face of challenges
- An added benefit would be a desire to develop design and specification capabilities in non-furniture elements such as Metalwork, LED lighting, and Acoustics.
What will your role look like?
- Technical design and development of client inquiries
- Collaboration with project managers and clients to achieve optimal design outcomes
- Generation of clear and accurate approval and production drawings
- Working closely with the operations manager and shop floor joiners to address questions and problem-solve throughout the production process
- Adherence to timescales and meeting deadlines is crucial to this role
