HSE Manager

Location: Halifax
Salary: 60,000 - 75,000 (depending on qualifications and experience)
Bonus Scheme: Participation in a performance-based bonus scheme (Profit Before Tax)

Job Introduction:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HSE Manager to join our team due to retirement. This role is ideal for a professional with extensive expertise in the construction industry who is ready to take on a leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Managing Director for all HSE-related matters.
  • Prepare and review safe systems of work, including risk assessments for both production facilities and on-site operations, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct HSE audits, surveillance inspections, and lead accident, incident, and near-miss investigations.
  • Manage and lead the pre-qualification process with Achilles, Construction Line, and various customer pre-qualification databases.
  • Oversee the pre-qualification and auditing of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure employee training and maintain accurate health and safety records.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • A minimum of IOSH (CMIOSH preferred).
  • At least 10 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental management.
  • Strong understanding of HSE practices within the construction industry.

Working Hours:

  • Basic: 37.5 hours per week.
