Fernside Hall is a beautiful, residential care home for adults with a relaxed, family feel to the home. We are located in Halifax’s Manor Heath / Savile Park area, a few miles from the town centre.
As a smaller-than-average residential home, our amazing and dedicated staff team can spend lots of time supporting the 22 adults living in our homely surroundings with their day-to-day living and ensuring they live safely. We support people on either a permanent placement or for shorter respite stays as well.
Our staff are experienced to support individuals 24 hours a day, in a personalised and safe way. We have experience of supporting people who live with the early symptoms of Dementia.
Working as a Deputy Manager at Fernside Hall , your duties will include:
- Assist Registered Manager in implementing all departmental policies and procedures and in carrying out tasks related to budgets, Health and Safety, staff supervision, training and appraisal, and recruitment of care staff.
- Deputise for the Registered Manager in all operational aspects concerning the running of the establishment.
- Assess the preparation and presentation of reports and assessments.
- Design and implement rotas to suit the needs of the establishment and which will maximise the use of staff over twenty-four period.
- Ensure that the social, occupational, recreational, medical, dietary and religious needs of clients are met whether indigenous or ethnic origin.
- Work on a rota basis, and respond to emergency calls when required. Act as chair-person at staff or other meetings when required.
- Ensure the control, administration and disposal of prescribed drugs and medications within the service.
- Undertake other duties appertaining to the post as required by the Manager.
- In addition to these tasks, employees may at times be asked to carry out other reasonable duties as required by the service or manager.
Necessary Experience or Qualifications:
- Educated to equivalent of registered nurse, health, and social care management - level 3-4 NVQ or Diploma within social care.
- Previous experience as a senior support worker, registered nurse or other professional with 2/3 years working in a similar environment
- Knowledge of CQC regulations and implementation of the KLOES to work towards an outstanding service setting.
- Excellent in managing staff, motivating teams, and recruiting new staff members
